East Lake is located at the foot Ruofen Mountain in eastern Shaoxing. It is a famous place of interest in the east of Zhe jiang.

Taojunxuan, a noted person of Kuaiji in the Qing Dynasty had this landscape built in the style of the artistic conception of Taoyuan and named it East Lake.

Wonderful rocks, poolafter pool dotted with pavilions and winding paths, East lake are reputed as an epitome of Kuaijishan Mountain as pretty as west Lake. It has also enjoyed the reputation of being the first big potted landscape.
